What is it?

Energy Medicine is a field within the branch of medicine called Holistic Medicine. This field is split into two focuses. Practitioners in one focus use electrical stimulation and/or assessment equipment such as bone stimulation (osteogenic stimulation) equipment, the TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) machine, or the GVD (Gas Visual Discharge) machine. The other focus uses 'hands on' or 'hands over' the body to assess and bring about a change in the energy flow of the patient/client. This is the area in which all energy-based, 'hands on' healing disciplines are placed.

I've studied the 'hands on', energy-based focus of energy medicine for over ten years. I'm trained in over ten different disciplines of complementary care in addition to having studied with numerous specialists in the field. Through Energy Medicine Specialists, the education and certification division of Heart Healing Center, Inc., I teach Healing Touch, Reiki, Cutting the Ties That Bind, Energy Medicine for Advanced Practitioners and a one-day course called Energy Medicine in Surgery (see class registration page on the Energy Medicine Specialists website).

I consult with physicians and am published on the energetic aspects of disease. In addition, based upon my training and experience, I have taught curriculum for certifying holistic doctors and presented on this field for medical residents in a family practice program. I also present internationally on energy-based topics to medical communities.

My practice is focused on teaching, client practice, writing and consulting. I offer local and non-local private sessions. As an Energy Medicine Specialist (EMS), my specific focus has been on expanding the awareness and acceptance of this branch of complementary care within holistic medicine. I am 100% complementary with allopathic medicine and am committed to teaching and practicing this perspective.

As a specialist in energy medicine I assess, diagnose and treat the whole person's energetic system (Hara, chakras, fields and meridians) on all levels (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual). Because I am deeply committed to complementary care, I often refer clients to other professionals for additional care when needed. This includes physicians, mental health providers and spiritual counselors, among others. Likewise, I am often referred to when other professionals find that traditional treatment is not enough, additional support is needed, information about the energy system is lacking and would be helpful, or a consolidation of various treatment plans is needed.

in Surgery Class

Learn how to provide an energy medicine treatment during surgery. Topics include suggested pre-surgery and post-surgery sessions with your surgical client; how many sessions and what to cover. We also discuss surgical intention & client affirmations. Additionally, we will discuss proper protocol for pre-op, the operating room, post-op and interaction with surgeons, anesthesiologists and surgical/hospital staffs.
